I can not even describe how lovely and touching a day I had with Sandy, her husband and their staff. I had written to Sandy and asked what to bring for the kids. We agreed to drive past the place where they get their school books and do the shopping there. I brought some different things from Denmark like toothbrushes etc.
Along with my friend, I was welcomed by all the staff, school teachers and Headmaster. Afterwards, we were shown around all the pupils in their classrooms. When teaching ended, we were entertained by some of the mothers through their dancing.
I can only say that if you come to The Gambia, write to Sandy that you would like to visit and pack your suitcase with good things for the school. I promise you will have one day you will never forget. Sandy is an absolutely wonderful person who has devoted her life to these children and their community. I'm glad I could help just a little bit and I hope that many will visit so every child can get a pencil and a book for school. Thanks a lot Sandy.
