We pride ourselves on recruiting hardworking, responsible and trustworthy team members and we have four caseworkers based in The Gambia, all of them well known to Sandy & her husband Sarjo. All of our caseworkers receive ongoing training which ensures they understand the ethics of the charity. We have a wonderful and inspiring team, all of whom are fantastic ambassadors for Goal for the Gambia.

Fansu Bojang
Senior Caseworker

Fansu has been with us since the very beginning and an integral part of the charity's past, present and future. He has a caseload of 50 sponsored students and their families and is also responsible for project payments and fees. Fansu manages Kuloro and Santo-su Schools and supports the teachers who work there, as well as being guiding hand to the other caseworkers. 

Fansu is married with 2 children and lives in Brikama.

Janko Jabang
Team Leader

Janko was one of our first students to receive sponsorship enabling him to attend senior school and study business management at college. To demonstrate his appreciation for the charity, Janko started volunteering for us and in 2013, we were able to offer him paid employment and he is now our Team Leader. Janko also works at The Presidents Office who recognise the value of the work we do, and so support him in the work he does for us.

Janko has a caseload of 120+ sponsored students and as the Sanyang Scout Leader, he is also responsible for revitalising the well respected Sanyang Scout group, which has grown to include a band and Majorettes. 
Janko is married with one child and lives in Sanyang in a large extended family compound.

Yankuba (Yanks) Camara
Caseworker - Somita 

 Yanks is our man in Somita! Yanks has been instrumental in the creation and development of Bantangba Nursery and the recruitment of staff. As well has having a caseload of 130+ sponsored students, Yanks has many other roles in Somita. He is responsible for the day to day running of the Bantangba Nursery, is the School Bursar and also steps in as Project Manager for whatever building or project work is going on in the village on behalf of the charity. 

Yanks was born and bred in Somita. He is married with 2 children and lives there in a large extended family compound. His lovely sister-in-laws are responsible for providing the delicious lunches to our visitors!

Bakary Bojang

Assistant Team Leader

Bakary is our newest team member, he has been with us since early 2022. He is the nephew of Fansu and we have known him since he was 13. He initially volunteered to help Fansu doing sponsor updates and we were very happy to offer him employment. Bakary has qualifications in IT and is now my go to man to help out when I get stuck!

He is a hard worker and always available whenever we need him. He was promoted to assistant team leader last year to support Janko especially when I am out of the country.

Bakary is single and lives in Brikama.
